BA Economics

The B.A. Economics programme is designed to give students maximum flexibility in the first, second and final years. In the first and second years students minor in other B.A. programmes (Sociology, Social Work, Political Studies, History, Geography and Rural Development, Religious Studies, Akan, English, Frence, Chinese) offered at different departments of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

In the first, second and third years students are required to take approved courses at other departments of the University aside the Faculty of Social Sciences. In the final year students have the option to specialise in two elective courses (Monetary Economics, International Economics, Financial Economics, Public Sector Economics, Environmental and Resource Economics, Energy Economics, Industrial Economics, Labour Economics and Health Economics) in addtion to three core courses (Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics) and a dissertation.
